Calmscroll News™ is a bias-filtering analysis and summarization service designed to help you save time and get clearer, more accurate, and more useful information than other news sources.

By accessing or using the Calmscroll News website, mobile app, or related services (collectively, “Calmscroll News™” or the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Use (the “Terms”). If you do not agree, please do not use Calmscroll News™.

Who We Are
Calmscroll News™ is published by Parrhesiastes LLC dba Calmscroll News™ (“Calmscroll News,” “we,” “our,” or “us”).
Our mission is to help people see information clearly—without ads, bias, conflicts of interest, triggering images, junk, noise, or spin.
Calmscroll News summaries are written in our own words and link to original journalism from multiple independent, credible, and trusted sources—including AP, BBC, CBC, Reuters, The Guardian, and others. The list of sources is reviewed at least quarterly to confirm independence, credibility, transparency, and reliability. Collectively, Calmscroll News's source network covers Canada, the United States, and the rest of the world.
All summaries are produced using Parrhesiastes LLC's proprietary, patent-pending 25-point scholarly bias detection and mitigation rubric and reviewed by trained editors before publication.

Creating and Using Your Account
To use Calmscroll News™, you’ll need a Calmscroll News account. When you register for a Calmscroll News account, you agree to:

Payments and Subscriptions
Calmscroll News may offer free and paid subscription tiers.
Payments are processed through the Apple App Store, Google Play, Stripe, or another payment processor.
- Subscriptions auto-renew until canceled.
- Free trials convert to paid plans unless canceled before the trial ends.
- Applicable taxes may apply.
- Pricing and features may change; if we make a material change to price or benefits, we’ll provide reasonable notice and apply the change on your next billing cycle.
- Refunds are handled by the platform where you purchased and are available only where required by law or platform policy.
  If you cancel, you retain access until the end of the current billing period. We may change or discontinue plans with reasonable notice.
  Your billing relationship is with the platform through which you subscribed (Apple, Google, or Stripe), and their terms of service and refund policies apply.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Copy, scrape, or republish Calmscroll News content or code;
- Use Calmscroll News for commercial purposes without prior written permission;
- Misrepresent Calmscroll News content as your own;
- Interfere with Calmscroll News’s operation or security;
- Engage in behavior that could disrupt or degrade Calmscroll News’s service, servers, or networks;
- Upload malware or attempt to breach security controls; or
- Use Calmscroll News™ content to train or improve AI models without our prior written consent.
  Automated access that degrades performance or bypasses security controls is prohibited.
  We aim to keep Calmscroll News™ a calm, clear, credible, bias-aware space—please use it responsibly.
Intellectual Property
All Calmscroll News™ Summaries, templates, logos, names, trade dress, trademarks, service marks, and the Parrhesiastes Bias Detection & Mitigation System are owned by Parrhesiastes LLC dba Calmscroll News™, and/or their affiliates.
You may view and share Calmscroll News content for personal, non-commercial use with proper credit to Calmscroll News.
Any reproduction, bulk download, republication, or use for AI training or dataset creation requires our prior written consent.

Limitation of Liability

Termination & Indemnification
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, misuse Calmscroll News™, or if required by law.
These Terms (including without limitation the provisions on Intellectual Property, Acceptable Use, Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, and Governing Law & Disputes) will survive and continue to apply after termination.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Parrhesiastes LLC, and our officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use or misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States of America, and applicable US federal law.
Most disputes between you and Calmscroll News™ can be resolved without resort to legal action. If you have any dispute with Calmscroll News, you agree that before taking any formal legal action you will contact us at parrhesiastesllc@gmail.com and provide a brief, written description of the dispute and your contact information. If you and Calmscroll News cannot come to a resolution within 60 days after the time an informal dispute resolution is initiated, you agree that any disputes or claims between you and Calmscroll News, shall be resolved by confidential, final, and binding arbitration to be conducted at a mutually agreed-upon location where official and legal matters are resolved. Your arbitration fees and your share of the arbitrator’s compensation shall be governed by and, where appropriate, limited by the Rules. BY AGREEING TO ARBITRATION, YOU UNDERSTAND THAT YOU ARE WAIVING THE RIGHT TO SUE IN COURT OR HAVE A JURY TRIAL FOR ALL CLAIMS, EXCEPT AS LIMITED BY APPLICABLE LAW.To the maximum extent permitted by law, you waive any right to participate in class or collective actions against Calmscroll News or its affiliates.
California users retain any non-waivable rights under state law.
Users accessing Calmscroll News™ from outside the USA agree that the exclusive venue for all disputes is the United States of America.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are significant, we’ll notify you in-app or by email. Continuing to use Calmscroll News after updates means you accept the revised Terms.

For notices of alleged copyright infringement, please include your contact details, a description of the copyrighted work, the allegedly infringing material, and a statement made under penalty of perjury that you believe the use is unauthorized.
Service Availability and Modifications
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of Calmscroll News at any time with or without notice. We are not liable for outages, network failures, or other events beyond our reasonable control.
Assignment, Waiver, Severability, and Entire Agreement
You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them at any time. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver. If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining terms remain in effect.
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Editorial Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding Calmscroll News and may not be changed except in writing signed or published by us.
